Light of Unity Festival

Baha’is of Denver are preparing to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Bahá’u’lláh, the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith, on October 22, 2017.

Events will begin Friday Evening October 20 and continue through Sunday October 22, including a semi-formal reception on Friday and a Street Festival on Saturday. Events will be planned across the metro area and around the world. For details of the Denver celebrations, see below.

Tickets for the Friday night discussion and concert are FREE but limited. They are available at:
Opening Reception and Concert
5:30PM - HORS D'OEUVRES AND CONVERSATION, Downstairs Weinberg Room. Discussions of the Bahá’í Faith and the lives of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh.
7:30PM – CONCERT & PROGRAM, Upstairs Auditorium. A short program will be followed by a vocal performance by Marnie Ward and the world premiere of a solo piano composition written and performed by Mr. Stephen Fordham, in honor of this event.

Multicultural Street Festival – on Grant Street in Front of Bahá’í Center
Performances, food trucks, bounce house, games, Bahá’í bookstore, and booths where folks can learn about the Bahá’í Faith.
ALL DAY – CONVERSATIONS about the world-embracing vision of the Baha’i Faith
1:00PM – CELEBRATION OF THE JUNIOR YOUTH Spiritual Empowerment Program (ages 11-14)
Both festivals will showcase the spirit of service and learning of the young people who are participating in the spiritual education process.

6:00PM – 7:00PM – CLOSING PROGRAM, Upstairs Auditorium. A joyous program of prayer, music, and a short talk will close the Festival.

The Baha'i Community in Denver

The Denver Baha'i Community is learning how to bring the oneness of humankind into reality. We gather in homes and at the Baha'i Center of Metro Denver (221 S Bayuad) to hold devotional gatherings, classes for the spiritual education and empowerment of youth and children and to study The Creative Word. Everyone is encouraged to join us anytime.

Devotional Gatherings

Responding to the inmost longing of every heart to commune with its Maker, they carry out acts of collective worship in diverse settings, uniting with others in prayer, awakening spiritual susceptibilities, and shaping a pattern of life distinguished for its devotional character.

Spiritual Education

Aware of the aspirations of the children of the world and their need for spiritual education, they extend their efforts widely to involve ever-growing contingents of participants in classes that become centres of attraction for the young and strengthen the roots of the Faith in society. They assist junior youth to navigate through a crucial stage of their lives and to become empowered to direct their energies toward the advancement of civilization.

Study of the Creative Word

By embracing the diversity of the entire human family, they are engaged in systematic study of the Creative Word in an environment that is at once serious and uplifting.
